Humility and Joy
On the journey to Valcarlos we played a game some are familiar with. What does Martin do? It lasted all day and most of the evening until a newly arrived Mexican pilgrim declared on her first guess "he is a Priest" I can tell! There followed a discussion about Anglican priests in the Catholic Tradition. Which has continued off and on over the last few days.
I was in the shower when the Senior Priest came to invite us for a tour. When I came out he was waiting. "I hear you Anglican Priest, tonight you concelebre" he said. It was less an invitation, more a command, and so I did.
I was truly honoured and humbled.
For Father and his welcome and hospitality thanks be to God.
One of my companions remarked that after all the troubles of the day, it was clear that here I was in my place so obviously at home. If I had any energy left to cry with I think I might have done.
