Burgos Part 3
Blessed are the merciful...
I was very grateful that the Hospitalero said I could stay in the Albergue during closed period today because at that time there was 6" of snow on the ground. Some Peregrino's decided to walk on, the right decision as it turned out, as the rain dissolved most of the snow quite quickly. There was not much left when I went in search of food around 3 pm.
Here are my happy feet, it's probably as well it is an odour free blog... sleep was a challenge, however paracetamol comes in 1g tablets here and this has proved very effective. So today thanks be to God for those who help others through their medical research. I dread to think the state I would be in if this were 150 years ago.
The trees in the picture are down by the riverside opposite the gate I posted before. A fellow pilgrim showed me an earlier one with them covered in snow.
The other is a first sighting of Burgos Cathedral. It has I gather a long and glorious history of offering Christian worship since around the 10th century. Long may it continue.
