Leon by foot.
It may sound obvious but all my sightseeing today has been by foot. It is just over a week since I had to go to the Centre Salud San Augustine, in Burgos to have my blisters dealt with. I re-dressed my feet today and am pleased to report some improvements. As a precaution I have smeared more iodine ointment over the raw edges and deeper cuts. There is no more septic odour so this is really good. I can now plan to walk from Ponferrada which is slightly earlier than my revised plan. This is because the railway would require a very circuitous route to get me to Villafranca del Bierzo. However I shall walk less distance each day than the guide book stages to be on the safe side.
All our plans and ideas have to be revised from time to time, even the day that you plan doesn't always go to plan, so the Camino teaches me to be a little more laid back...
Enjoy these pictures of the architecture and sights of Leon from my walk in the city earlier today.
