Villafranca to Ruitelan

A wet start to the day once more cleared after about an hour and became a cloudy day with sunny intervals. The route was hard on the foot being on concrete and tarmac alongside the N VI road nearly all the way. The new motorway was also above for a lot of the time. Indeed it is about 40m above the Albergue from which I am writing. After Villafranca one of the highlights was a shepherd moving his sheep, a very wise sheepdog accompanied him. It was a joy to watch. The 23rd Psalm came to mind... "The Lord is my  shepherd..." . Unfortunately the Albergue most of us had planned to stay in was for some unknown reason cerrado today. This meant an extra 2.8 km to Ruitelan which was open. 8€ bought a meal of Cream of Chicken soup, salad, chicken supreme crocquettes, vanilla creme and bread and wine. Delicious. Conversation and. A little singing followed with an Italian from San Remo and a Menorcan and I. "Volare" went particularly well. Apparently I have a good voice!
